Google Ads management for residents, visitors and passersby

West Hollywood’s customers arrive from two directions. Around 35,000 people live here, mostly renters within walking distance of the boulevards, and far more visit: the City’s 2023 study counted 4.9 million unique visitors making an average of 5.3 trips a year. A hotel, restaurant or salon may want both groups, but they search differently, at different times, and they should not share one campaign or one budget.

Location settings matter more than usual. The city covers only 1.89 square miles and borders Beverly Hills, Hollywood and the Fairfax area, so even a small radius around your address spills across the line. For a dentist who mostly treats residents, that spill is wasted money. For a hotel on the Strip, the real audience may be someone in another state planning a trip, which calls for its own campaign aimed at people interested in the area.

Timing is the other lever. Demand here also runs late and swings with the calendar: brunch searches build toward Sunday, bars and lounges are looked up long after most offices close, and June and October bring the Pride and Halloween Carnaval crowds. A schedule and budget that follow those rhythms spend far less on clicks that arrive when nobody can answer the phone or the door is shut.

  • 4.9M unique visitors counted in the City’s 2023 study
  • 5.3 average trips a year per visitor
  • $700 a month for Pro, which includes Google Ads management

Search demand

Searches worth paying for, and some to block

Suggestions pulled from Google with US settings on 5 October 2026. Nothing registers for advertising help in the city itself, so the rows below show what people here are trying to buy, and which searches an account should refuse.

Search term Intent Why it matters
west hollywood emergency plumber Urgent When water is across an apartment floor, the first credible ad usually gets the call.
west hollywood emergency dentist Urgent Often searched outside office hours, so run it only while someone can answer.
boutique hotels west hollywood ca High Typed by travelers far from the city, often weeks before a stay.
west hollywood restaurants with private rooms High A group booking, so track it from the click to the reservation.
west hollywood event spaces High Because planners compare venues, this makes a strong case for a dedicated landing page.
west hollywood plastic surgery High Valuable patients, although the ad wording has to meet medical advertising rules.
west hollywood bars hiring Low Job seekers rather than customers, so it belongs on the negative list.
west hollywood parking ticket Low Someone dealing with a citation, so block it if “parking” is among your keywords.

Google Ads management that starts close to home

We usually launch with ads shown to people located in West Hollywood and the neighboring areas you actually serve, with negatives such as hiring, jobs, ticket and reddit in place from day one. When that core campaign brings inquiries at a sensible cost, a hotel, venue or clinic that draws from further afield gets a second campaign for travelers and planners, with its own budget, so each can be judged on its own results.

Paid or organic

Renting attention versus earning it

The two run on different timescales. Many WeHo businesses therefore use ads for an opening, an event week or an emergency line, then rely on local SEO for the rest of the year. Cannabis retailers are a special case: Google’s dangerous products policy largely shuts them out of paid search, so maps and organic results carry the load.

Google Ads Local SEO
Speed Live within days, once tracking works Builds over months
Cost model Google charges your card per click A flat monthly fee, no charge per visit
Event weeks Budget raised for Pride or Carnaval, then cut Event pages and changed hours published early
Out-of-town visitors Their own campaign and spending limit Pages that answer travelers’ questions
When you stop Inquiries stop the same day Visibility fades slowly
Strongest for Launches, emergencies and short peaks Steady demand through the year

The work

Google Ads management from launch week onward

01

Conversion tracking before spend

No serious budget is spent until phone calls, emails, form fills and online bookings are all being recorded. As a result, a keyword earns its place by the customers it brings in, never by its click count.

02

Location settings that fit the trade

One main campaign reaches only people actually in West Hollywood or the neighboring areas you choose; when the trade suits it, a second one targets out-of-town visitors still planning their trip.

03

A negative list from the first day

Jobs, hiring, tickets, permits and other off-target terms blocked before launch, then topped up every week after reading the real search terms.

04

Schedules for late hours

Ads paused when nobody can pick up, extended past midnight for a bar or an emergency trade that can, and weighted toward weekends wherever that is when bookings come in.

05

Budgets that follow the calendar

More spend around Pride in June, Halloween in October and your own busy season, less in quiet weeks, always agreed with you before it changes.

06

Regulated wording reviewed

Ads for med spas, dentists, real estate agents and anything involving alcohol also checked against Google’s policies and, where relevant, the Medical Board of California, the Dental Board of California, the California Department of Real Estate or the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. If a claim cannot be backed up, it stays out of the ad.

Done carefully

Google Ads management: where the money goes

The standards we keep on every West Hollywood account, written down so you can hold us to them.

The arrangement
Google bills every click to a card you control. What you pay us is one flat amount, identical in a quiet month and a heavy one.

The ad account belongs to your business, with you as top-level administrator from day one. We manage it as part of the Pro plan, $700 per month in US dollars, which you can end at the close of any month. Even if you walk away, everything, campaigns, history and conversion records, remains in the account you own.

How we work

How a typical engagement runs

Four stages, the same for every West Hollywood client whatever the trade.

  1. 01

    Audit

We review your site and listing and check where you appear from several points across the city, Sunset to Melrose.

  2. 02

    Pick the targets

We choose the searches worth winning, including street, hour and parking phrases, and give each one a home.

  3. 03

    Fix and build

Listing, page and content changes, starting with the ones most likely to bring calls and visits soon.

  4. 04

    Report monthly

Questions

Google Ads management: WeHo owners’ common questions

Will our ads reach tourists or only locals?

Whichever you choose, and often both through separate campaigns. For example, a dentist or dog groomer usually wants people in and around West Hollywood, while a hotel on the Strip may want travelers planning a visit.

Should we spend more during Pride and Halloween?

That depends on your trade. Hotels, bars and restaurants often see more searches around those weekends, while a clinic may only need to announce changed hours. Either way, we agree any increase with you beforehand.

Can a bar advertise its happy hour on Google?

Generally, yes, within Google’s alcohol policy, which rules out ads aimed at anyone under the legal drinking age or ads that encourage heavy drinking. The offer also has to fit what your Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control license allows. We word these ads plainly and you approve each one before it runs.

Our med spa wants to run ads. What can we say?

Claims must be accurate and must not promise results. Google also has its own healthcare policies, and the Medical Board of California oversees physicians, including those who supervise med spas. So every ad goes to you for approval before it runs.

Does your fee cover the clicks themselves?

No. Google Ads management is part of Pro, $700 per month in US dollars, but Google charges the clicks to the payment method on your own account. Money for ads never passes through us.

How soon will we know whether ads are working?

Give it a couple of months. The first weeks mostly reveal which searches bring calls and which only spend money; after that, the account improves as negatives and bids are refined. Meanwhile, there is no commitment beyond the current month.
